MENARID project enters its Mid-term Review

MENARID project started in 2010 with collaboration of FRWO, UNDP and GEF. As the project has been fully operational for the past 2-3 years, a Mid-term Review is required by GEF.

During this Mid-term Review, relevance of project activities with its original objectives, effectiveness and efficiency as well as its potential for replication and sustainability are being assessed by an Evaluation team. The afore-mentioned team is composed of an international Lead Evaluator (Ms Stephanie Hodge), and two national consultants (Mr Shahryar Rahmani and Mr Abdolhamid Amirebrahimi). With support from the MENARID project and UNDP as well as provincial project offices, the Evaluation Team was able to visit Yazd, Kermanshah and Semnan provinces, and participate in an intensive program composed of field visits, face-to-face interviews and high level meetings with Provincial Governors and Heads of Natural Resources Office of the Province, as well as Technical Committees of the project, and local communities.  The Evaluation Team will present the preliminary results of their mission and some recommendations on Wednesday 30 April after 11 days of intensive field work and review of project documentation.
